You’ve installed the plugin and activated your license. Good.
Now set it up properly before you start building.
These five steps ensure performance, clean structure, and a smooth design experience.
1. Confirm Your License Is Active #
Before doing anything else:
- Go to NxGen Addons → License
- Confirm the status shows Active
- Verify your activation count is correct
If the license is not active, widgets may not unlock fully and automatic updates will not function.
Do not skip this step.
2. Enable Only the Widgets You Plan to Use #
NxGen Addons allows you to enable or disable widgets individually.
Navigate to:
NxGen Addons → Widgets
Review the available widgets and enable only the ones you plan to use.
Why this matters:
- Reduces unnecessary load
- Improves Elementor performance
- Keeps your widget panel organized
- Prevents clutter in large builds
Performance starts with discipline.
3. Create a Test Page for Experimentation #
Before deploying widgets on live pages:
- Create a new page called “NxGen Test”
- Launch Elementor
- Add 2–3 NxGen widgets
- Explore layout and preset controls
This gives you a safe environment to:
- Understand widget behavior
- Test preset styles
- Experiment with responsive adjustments
- Evaluate animation settings
Never experiment directly on production pages.
4. Explore Preset Styles (Signature Series) #
Many NxGen widgets include preset design options such as:
- Minimal
- Bold
- Dark Mode
- Pastel
Add a widget and cycle through presets to understand how layout, spacing, and typography shift automatically.
Presets are not just visual themes. They adjust structural design logic.
This is where NxGen separates itself from basic add-on plugins.
5. Check Responsive Controls Immediately #
Do not wait until the end of your project to review mobile behavior.
After adding a widget:
- Switch to Tablet view
- Switch to Mobile view
- Adjust spacing and alignment as needed
NxGen widgets include responsive controls that allow:
- Layout stacking
- Column adjustments
- Spacing modifications
- Typography refinement
Mobile refinement should happen as you build, not after.
Bonus: Regenerate CSS (If Needed) #
If you previously installed or updated the plugin and styles appear inconsistent:
- Go to Elementor → Tools
- Click Regenerate CSS & Data
This resolves most styling inconsistencies instantly.
Why These Steps Matter #
Skipping setup creates:
- Performance issues
- Licensing confusion
- Widget clutter
- Layout inconsistencies
Spending five focused minutes now prevents hours of troubleshooting later.
